Why join the Packet Storm community?
Joining the Packet Storm community is quick, simple, and provides you extensive additional use of the site. Having been a go-to for security research since 1998, our collection of data offers you unparalleled insight into both current and historical security issues.

Users get access to cool (and free) functions like the ability to follow other user activity, create collections of data you find on the site, favorite items for easier reference later, make a custom profile that establishes your existence, and more. Also important to note is that unauthenticated visitors are only allowed ten searches a day, but users get fifty.

If you are looking to purchase premium services, such as API or Advertisement access, you will also need to sign up and then the menu options you seek will be enabled.

Create your identity
Making an account is very quick. We just need to collect some information below and then you will be required to verify your email address.

Step One: Provide us your e-mail address

This should be your own email address. Sharing accounts is prohibited. This address will need to be validated and used for subsequent logins. If you had an account on the last generation of Packet Storm, it should still work and you will not need to sign up again.

Step Two: Provide us an alphanumeric username for your user URL

This cannot be changed once set. It will be used as your user page URL at https://packetstorm.news/user/NAME

Step Three: Provide a name

Please provide a name. If you would prefer to use a pseudonym, that's okay too. If you decide to purchase any offerings, we will need a real name and some additional info, but for now, let's start with a name.

Step Four: Choose a country

Please choose a location that makes sense to you. If you would rather not, you can choose Undisclosed Location.

Step Five: Provide a passphrase

We strongly suggest using a memorable phrase mixed with special characters and numbers. 16 characters minimum and a 56 character maximum. You may actually have to complete a sentence and for that, we apologize.

Step Six: Passphrase confirmation

It may seem really annoying to type such a long passphrase twice, but this is how we know you didn't typo!
